
Kamba Simango was the first Mozambican (Tsonga) to study at University. Kamba was born in 1890 and died in 1967.
He studied at Columbia University in New York City.
Kamba Graduated in 1919.
Amongst other places he studied was in Portugal and Great Britain.
Kamba was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in 1924.
He was an extra ordinary intellectual; recruited as an assistant in Columbia University to contribute to the realization of studies about the centre of Mozambique; He was surely capable of defending a doctoral thesis but did not have the opportunity to do so.
So the first Mutsonga to hold a Doctorate is Eduardo Shivambu Mondlani.
